Why should I register for an account with Districteats.com?
Because only registered users can post comments, rate restaurants and bars, write/ rate reviews, bookmark profiles, and enjoy many of the other features on Districteats.com.
How can I write blogs for District Eats?
When in need, we will make a blog post saying we are looking for more bloggers. However, if you think you have something to offer District Eats, email us at email@example.com. If you currently own your own blog and would like to contribute related blogs click the "Contribute" button found on various pages.
What is "Bookmark"?
This feature allows you to save restaurants or bars that you are interested in visiting in the future.
How do I change my password?
After logging in, click “My Profile” then click the “Settings” tab and scroll down to the “New Password” box. Simply type your new password and press “Update Password.”
Is it free to register?
What is an Avatar and why do I want one?
An avatar is a thumbnail picture used to identify users. Feel free to upload any picture of yourself you want, just please keep it clean.
How does the rating system work?
Registered users are able to vote by clicking the stars on the upper right of a profile. Each vote is counted and the average if found. You may only vote once for each establishment.
What happens if I forget my password?

The District Eats blog launched on 6/17/09 while the main site was still under construction. DistrictEats.com launched on 07/22/09.

We would ask that you only review and rate restaurants or bars that you have actually been to keep the rating system honest.

Our staff at District Eats makes everything you see on the profile pages. We have all the equipment and skills needed to really make your company stand out.

Our Pro Profile Package is very affordable. You can always upgrade to a video profile and/ or a photo gallery in the future.
What is the difference between “My Profile” and “Public Profile?”
My Profile” contains both your public and private information. “Public Profile” only shows information that you choose to share. To change what appears in your “Public Profile,” visit the “My Profile” page. Click “Settings” and fill out any information you would like to share and then press “Save.”
What is the “Feed?”
The feed is where you can follow your recent activities as well as the activities of other users you subscribe to. Your activity will show up on any other user’s feed that subscribes to you. Included in the feed is: Recommendations, Messages, Bookmarks, Subscriptions, and Subscribers.
What does it mean when someone recommends a place to me?
When someone recommends a place to you they are suggesting you give that bar/ restaurant a try. You can easily remove a recommendation by clicking the “X” to the right of name.
Add the ranking info to the help page. What's the deal with the ranking system?
The more you reviews you post, the higher your rank becomes. From time to time we may have promotions that only include higher ranking users to reward them for their frequent use and contribution to the site. The ranking system goes:
Newbie: 0-10 reviews
District Eats Regular: 11-49 reviews
Gold Member: 50+ reviews
